If you are dealing with acne, you probably are already annoyed and frustrated about the different acne treatment options. Most people struggle to find the best product for cleaning their skin, and many abrasive skin care products aggravate acne and end up making your skin worse.
Experimenting with acne treatment options is a difficult and painful process.
Unfortunately, nearly 60 million people in the United States alone suffer from mild to cystic acne! Furthermore, nearly 20% of those people have severe acne which can cause scarring and long-term facial damage.
Regardless of how bad your acne is- you are not alone!

Using a facial steamer can help you:
- Reduce the Appearance of Acne
- Improve the Blood Circulation in Your Facial Skin
- Improve Cell Turn-Over Ration
- Balance Skin Complexion
Combined with one of my homemade face mask for acne recipes, a facial steamer is a powerful tool for fighting acne!

Facial Steamer for Acne | The Research
Unlike many other acne treatment options, there is scientific research confirming the benefits of using a facial steamer for acne.
In 2016, a study published in The Journal of Korean Medicine Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology investigated the effect of herbal steam therapy on “acne vulgaris.”
In the study, researchers treated six patients who had acne vulgaris with Korean Medicine Therapy (Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture)- which included herbal steam therapy. The effects were evaluated using the Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS) and pictures.
After the treatment, the KAGS Grade of all patients treated with the Korean Medicine Therapy that included herbal steam therapy was 1. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers concluded that Korean Medicine Therapy that utilizes herbal steam therapy is effective and available to treat symptoms of acne vulgaris.
Although further studies are needed to verify and extrapolate on these findings, it is very impressive that herbal steam therapy is already associated with acne treatment through scientific research.

Using a facial steamer is a safe and reliable way to reduce the symptoms of acne. Unlike creams or topical products, there is less of a chance of having a negative reaction when you use a facial steamer. Using steam to treat acne is an incredibly natural solution and will benefit your skin for years.
Furthermore, a face steamer is a great investment. Although you will want to buy essential oils over time, it is a much cheaper treatment option than dealing with creams and scrubs for years.
